Applications are invited for one temporary position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the DBT
sponsored research project entitled “Studies on Genetics and Epigenetic Alterations in Head and
Neck Cancers Prevalent in North Eastern Region of India” under Dr. Anand M.Ramteke,Associate
Professor & Principal Investigator, Department of Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, Tezpur
University, Tezpur.
Essential qualification: M. Sc. degree in Life Sciences/ Biosciences/ Molecular
Biology/Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Nanoscience/Nanobiotechnology/Nanotechnology
Desirable qualification: Research experience in Cell Biology/ Molecular Biology
Remuneration: Rs. 16,000/+ 10% HRA per month if NET/ GATE/ BET/ BINC qualified candidate.
For other candidates (Non NET/GATE/ BET/ BINC qualified) Rs. 12,000/+ 10% HRA.
Age: The upper age limit is 28 years for JRF. Age relaxation of 5 years for upper age limit will be given
to SC/ ST/ Physically handicapped / Female candidates.
Duration: 11/2 (One and Half) years or Till Completion of the project which ever is earlier.

Walk –in‐Interview

A walk­in­interview will be held at 11.00 a.m. on 6 th June, 2011 (Monday) in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Tezpur University, Napaam, Tezpur for the following project positions under Principal Investigatorship of
Dr. R. Doley, Assistant Professor.

Name of the Project : Search for novel treatments for snake venom poisoning Composition analysis of venoms of snake family elapidae and Viperidae, and complete characterization of their major toxins.

1. Position : Junior Research Fellow­01

Educational Qualification : Candidate must possess a M. Sc. in Molecular Biology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/Life Sciences/ M. Pharrm from a recognized University with minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in aggregate for General Category and 55% for SC/ ST/ OBC and physically challenged candidates.

Desirable qualification : NET/ GATE/ BET/ BINC qualified candidates and / or experience in protein purification, characterization and bio­analytical techniques.

Fellowship
: Rs. 16,000/­ +10% HRA p.m. for the first two years (JRF) and Rs. 18,000/­ + 10% HRA p.m. for the 3rd year (SRF) will be applicable to NET/ GATE/ BET/ BINC qualified candidates.
: Rs. 12,000/­ + 10% HRA p.m. for the first two years and Rs. 14,000/­ + 10% HRA p.m. for the 3rd year (SRF) for other candidates.

Age : Candidate should not be more that 28 years of age on the date of interview. Upper age limit may be relaxed upto 5 years in the case of candidate belonging SC/ ST/ OBC/ Women/ physically challenged candidates.

2. Position : Project Assistant (01)

Educational Qualification : Candidate should be M. Sc. in Molecular Biology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Life Sciences from a recognized University with minimum 55% marks or equivalent CGPA in aggregate for General Category and 5% relaxation for SC/ ST/ OBC and physically challenged candidates.

Desirable qualification : One year experience in any government R & D laboratory, University or Institute with experience in protein purification, characterization and bio­analytical techniques.
Fellowship : Rs. 8,000/­ p.m. (consolidated)
Age : Candidate should not be more that 28 years of age on the date of interview. Upper age limit may be relaxed upto 5 years in the case of candidate belonging SC/ ST/ OBC/ Women/ physically challenged / experienced candidates.
