Applications on prescribed format are invited from the citizen of India for filling up following posts on contractual basis:–

1)Research Scientist :Qualification and Experience: Ph. D. in Life Sciences/ Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry/ Biochemistry/Biotechnology with 1 year experience in research & development activities in R & D laboratories of Government / University/Autonomous Body/ Public Sector Undertaking/ reputed Private Sector. Preferred age limit: Not above 35 years.

2) Sr. Technical Assistant: Qualification and Experience: 1st class B.Sc. with major in Chemistry/ Analytical Chemistry/ Biochemistry/ Life Sciences/ Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics or equivalent from a recognized University/ Institution. Preference will be given to candidates having 1st class M. Sc. in above mentioned discipline. Preferred age limit: Not above 28 years.

3) Executive Assistant: Qualification and Experience: Graduate preferably in Science with uniformly good academic records. Candidates having diploma in Computer Application from any recognized University with good working knowledge in Computer will be given preference. Candidates must have good knowledge of office procedure followed in scientific research organizations along with drafting knowledge in English. Working experience of at least 2 years in reputed organization particularly in technical institution/ organization is preferred. Preferred age limit: Not above 30 years

General information

1) Appointments will be on contractual basis initially for a period of 1 (one) year and shall be extendable for a further period based on performance. Salary shall commensurate with qualification and experience.

2) The application is to accompany with a Bank Draft of Rs 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred) only as application fee drawn in favour of “Chief Executive Officer, Guwahati biotech Park” and payable at Guwahati and attested copies of certificate. The application must be submitted to the “Chief Executive Officer, Guwahati Biotech Park, Technology Complex, IIT Guwahati, Guwahati- 39 super scribed with “Application for the Post of…………………..” on or before Dec 15, 2010.

3) Incomplete application or application received after last date will be summarily rejected. Guwahati Biotech Park reserves right to call only those candidates who rank high from amongst application received and mere fulfillment of eligibility criteria will not confer any right to be called for interview.

4) Canvassing in any form will be treated as disqualification.

TIME: 3 HOURS MAXIMUM MARKS: 200

From June, 2011 CSIR-UGC (NET) Exam for Award of Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Lecturership shall be a Single Paper Test having Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The question paper is divided in three parts

Part 'A' : This part shall carry 20 questions pertaining to General Science, Quantitative Reasoning & Analysis and Research Aptitude. The candidates shall be required to answer any 15 questions. Each question shall be of two marks. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 30 out of 200.

Part 'B': This part shall contain 50 Multiple Choice Questions(MCQs) generally covering the topics given in the syllabus. A candidate shall be required to answer any 35 questions. Each question shall be of two marks. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 70 out of 200.

Part 'C': This part shall contain 75 questions that are designed to test a candidate's knowledge of scientific concepts and/or application of the scientific concepts. The questions shall be of analytical nature where a candidate is expected to apply the scientific knowledge to arrive at the solution to the given scientific problem. A candidate shall be required to answer any 25 questions. Each question shall be of four marks. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 100 out of 200.

· There will be negative marking @25% for each wrong answer.

· To enable the candidates to go through the questions, the question paper booklet shall be distributed 15 minutes before the scheduled time of the exam. The Answer sheet shall be distributed at the scheduled time of the exam.

· On completion of the exam i.e. at the scheduled closing time of the exam, the candidates shall be allowed to carry the Question Paper Booklet. No candidate is allowed to carry the Question Paper Booklet in case he/she chooses to leave the test before the scheduled closing time.

· Model Question Paper shall be released at the time of Notification for June 2011 exam
