Academic Qualifications :
Essential : Master’s degree in Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology or equivalent from a recognized University. (However, Master’s degree in Physical Sciences or Bachelors Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Computer/Chemical Engineering/Technology or equivalent from a recognized university would be preferred).
Desirable: Specialized experience in Research and Development/Industrial/Academic Institutions and/or Science and Technology Organizations. This experience shall be of a specific nature relevant to the job requirements of the post.
Age limit: Not exceeding 30 years which is relaxable for Government servants upto 5 years and in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates, age relaxation would be in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Govt. from time to time. The crucial date of determining the age shall be the closing date of receipt of applications from candidates in India (other than those in the Island Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar Islands Lakshadweep).
Career opportunities for scientists in MNRE: A scientist is eligible for promotion upto and including the level of Scientist ‘G’ in the scale of pay of (Rs.18400-22400) through a merit based promotion scheme.
