PROJECT 1 : Integrated Disease Surveillance Project (IDSP) for Non Communicable Disease (NCD) Risk Factors”
1. Research Scientist I : Three Posts
Remuneration: Rs.14,800/- + HRA for Non- medical and Rs.18,500/- + HRA for Medical
Qualification : Masters degree in Statistics /Biostatistics/ Population Studies /Public Health
Experience : Minimum 3 years research experience in the projects related to public health.
Desirable: Ph.D. in the area of Health Research. The knowledge of conductinglarge surveys, capability of handling large data and writing report etc. will be required. The candidate selected for this post may have to work in-group to organize training for conducting survey, data analysis, preparation of reports etc.
Age: The maximum age limit 40 years.
2. Statistician-Cum-Programmer : One Post
Remuneration: Rs. 12034/- (Consolidated)
Qualification : Masters degree in Statistics..
Experience : Two years experience in programming for data analysis and developing large multi-centric database and handling Statistical softwares.
Desirable: Diploma in Computer Science or applications.
Age: The maximum age limit 35 Years.
3. Data Processing Assistant : One Post
Remuneration: Rs. 8325/- (Consolidated)
Qualification : Graduate in Statistics with degree or diploma in Computer application.
Experience : Three years experience in processing of research data.
Desirable: Masters degree in Statistics with one year experience in software applications
Age: The maximum age limit 30 Years.
PROJECT 2 : The Prevention of HIV/STI among Married Women in Urban Area
1. Senior Research Fellow: One post
Remuneration : Rs. 14,000/-+HRA (consolidated)
Qualification : Masters degree in Statistics / Biostatistics/ Social Sciences/Population Studies.
Experience : Two years experience of working with community and collecting health data.
Age: The maximum age limit 35 Years.
Place of Work : Delhi and Bombay.
PROJECT 3 : Clinical Trials Registry – India
1. Senior Research Fellow : One post
Remuneration : Rs.18200/- (Consolidated)
Qualification : First class Postgraduate degree in statistics / Biostatistics/ Computer Applications, Computer science with statistics at graduation level.
Desirable : Computer skills – Database Management and Internet surfing,
Knowledge of statistical software like SPSS, STATA, EPI etc.
Age: The maximum age limit 35 Years.
2. Assistant : One post
Remuneration : Rs.8,325/- (Consolidated)
Qualification : Graduate. with One year certificate/diploma in computer applications.
Desirable : One year data entry experience. on Office Automation
Age: The maximum age limit 30 Years.
Note – The above positions are purely temporary and are co-terminus with abovementioned project. The engagement may be extended/terminated at any time as per the need of the Project. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Interview. The initial appointment will be for a period of six months, which may be extended based on performance. The candidate deployed for above positions will have no claim for any regular appointment in any Institute of ICMR as per Govt. rules. These positions do not carry any other benefits. Max. Age: 25 years as on 20th June 2008 (Relaxation up to 5 years in case of SC/ST/OBC, Physically Handicapped and Female candidates).
Stipend: Rs. 11,500/- per month (fixed)
Tenure: Maximum two years from the date of joining and not extendable under any circumstances. Performance of the interns will be reviewed every six month. In case the performance is not satisfactory, the internship will be terminated with one month¢s notice or one month¢s stipend in lieu thereof. During the internship period the intern would be free to appear for NET/GATE and secure regular fellowship for doing Ph. D.
Selection will be based on overall academic records and performance in the interview.
No TA/DA will be paid for the attending the interview.
