Bioinformatics Center, SVP University of Agriculture & Technology, Meerut invites to appear in Walk In Interview on 2nd Sept., 2009 for filling up the following positions (purely temporary), sponsored by the the DBT, New Delhi for advanced research training in Bioinformatics in an on-going project entitled "Creatioin of Bioinformatics Infrastructure Facility........ BTISnet"


1. Studentship - 02
Eligibility: Students pursuing P.G degree in Bioinformatics / Biotechnology or biochemistry with basic knowledge of Bioinformatics.

2. Traineeship - 02
Eligibility: Applicants who have completed their P.G degree in Bioinformatics / Biotechnology or Biochemistry with basic knowledge in Bioinformatics.

Desirable:
I. Experience in computational bioinformatics, related field / handling of bioinformatics software / database development & diagnostic & drug design.



Stripend & Duration:

A monthly stripend of rs. 5000 (Conslidated) each shall be awarded to both the candidates of Studentship & Traineeship & the duration of the training will be six months.

These posts are purely temporary & on a project mode. AND Experience in RDBMS Oracle/Java programming /Web server development

Desirable: Experience in Chemoinformatics projects.

Postion-II SRF/JRF

Essential: M.Sc/B.Tech/B.Pharm with minimum 1 year ofresearch experience in project ORM.Pharma / M.Tech in Physics / Chemistry / Bioinformatics / ComputerScience / Computer Engineering and related subjects.

ANDExperience in Computational Genomics / Systems Biology*

Desirable: Knowledge in Infectious Diseases / Programming skills in C/C++ and Perl.

Eligibility of SRF will be decided by the experience in the field of research

Postion-III SRF/JRF

Essential: M.Sc / B.Tech / B.Pharm with minimum 1 year ofresearch experience in project OR M.Pharm / M.Tech in Physics / Chemistry / Bioinformatics / ComputerScience / Computer Engineering and related subjects.

AND Experience in Molecular Modeling and Drug Designing*

Desirable: Programming skills in C/C++ and Perl.

Eligibility of SRF will be decided by the experience in the field of research*

Preferences will be given to candidates having publications in the relevant fields.One candidate can apply ONLY one best suitable project position. Appointment will be made initially for one year and extendable up to three years after evaluation.

Eligibility - Students perusing postgraduate degree in Bioinformatics or any branch of Life Sciences with a programme in Bioinformatics to carry out a project.
2. Traineeships – 02
Eligibility: Applicants who have completed their Post Graduate degree in Bioinformatics or any other branch of Life Sciences with knowledge in Bioinformatics.

Preference will be given to fresh Post Graduates with experience in computational Bioinformatics tools/ related field/ handling of Bioinformatics software/ database development. A monthly stipend of 5000/- (Consolidated) shall be awarded to both the candidates of Studentship and Traineeship and duration of the training will be for 6 months.
