Applications in plain papers are invited for the posts of Assistant Professor(Agril. Biotechnology) under the Department of Agril. Biotechnology, AAU, Jorhat. The details of qualifications, experience etc. and format of application form are available on University website www.aau.ac.in and can be downloaded . Such application should be accompanied by an IPO of Rs. 10/- at the time of submission of application. The necessary details and other relevant information may also be obtained from the office of the undersigned on payment of Rs. 10/-(Rupees ten) only in the form of IPO in favour of Registrar, AAU, Jorhat.
The filled in application and all other supporting documents along with a self addressed stamped
envelope should reach the office of the Registrar, AAU, Jorhat on or before September 30, 2009.

2. Qualification :
Essential : (i) Passed 10th and 12th standard with at least 55% marks in aggregate at
both the levels.
(ii) Passed Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture with OGPA of at least 6.5
in 10.00 scale or equivalent mark followed by Masters degree in
the relevant subject.
(iii) 55% marks or an equivalent OGPA of 3.00 in 4.00 point scale or 7.00
in 10.00 point scale at the Master’s degree level from an Indian University,
or an equivalent degree from a foreign University.
(iv) Qualified National Eligibility Test.
Desirable: 1. Specialization in Bioinformatics / Protemics Genetics / Immunology / Plant Gene Technology – as evident from published work or specific degree.
2. Ph.D degree in relevant area of specialization

General Instruction:
A. Age limit as on 01.01.2009 : 38 years (maximum) . The age is relaxable by the number
of full years of service rendered in AAU/ICAR/CSIR/DST/SAUs and other Govt.
Institutions up to a maximum of 5(five) years.
B. Submission of Application forms :
i) Application form in prescribed format is to be submitted to the Registrar, AAU,
Jorhat or before September, 30, 2009.
ii) IPO/BANK DRAFT of Rs. 100/- in case of general candidates and Rs. 50/- in
case of SC/ST candidates must accompany the application forms.
iii) A self addressed stamped (worth Rs. 6/-) envelope (size 23 cm. X 10 cm)
should be sent along with the application and other enclosures.
iv) Reservation shall be as per Govt. of Assam rules.
v) In service candidates must send their application through proper channel.
vi) Applications received late and found incomplete will not be considered.
