Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the following purely temporary positions of RA/Studentships/Traineeships, to work in DBT sponsored project on Bioinformatics Infrastructure Facility (BIF) at the Bioinformatics Centre, Gauhati University, Guwahati:
1. Research Associate (RA) - 01
Essential Qualification: Ph.D. in Bioinformatics or M.Sc. in Bioinformatics/Life Sciences with an Advanced P.G. Diploma in Bioinformatics, and two years Research experience in the field are essential evidenced from published work.
Desirable Qualification: Experience with Biodiversity Database development, Protein modelling and molecular phylogeny.
Age: below 35 years.
2. Traineeships – 02
Essential Qualification: Applicants completed their Post Graduate degree in Bioinformatics or any other branch of Life Sciences / B.E (Computer Science)/B.Tech. /MCA/M.Sc. with knowledge in Bioinformatics.
Desirable Qualification: Prior knowledge of programming languages such as C, VB, SQL etc. and software/database development.

Essential Qualification: Students pursuing postgraduate degree in Bioinformatics or any branch of Life Sciences with a programme in Bioinformatics to carry out a project.

Consolidated Salary for the Research Associate is Rs. 16,000/- per month plus 15% HRA and the term of service is one year which may be extended further depending on performance and/or other conditions prevailing at that time.
A monthly stipend of 5000/- (Consolidated) shall be awarded to both the candidates of Studentship and Traineeship and the duration of the training will be for 6 months.
