Applications are invited from Indian Nationals fulfilling the prescribed qualifications for
appointment to the under mentioned post:

(i) Name of Post : Scientist-B
Pay scale and allowance: Pay scale of PB-3:-Rs.15,600-39,100 with Grade Pay Rs.5,400/- p.m.
plus allowances as admissible under the rules/orders of the Government of India.
Total No. of Posts: 24 (Unreserved- 14, Reserved for SC-02, ST- 05, OBC-02 and PH- 01).

Description of duties: To conduct research in the relevant field of forestry in ICFRE Institutes.

1. SENT (Entomology)
Essential Qualification: (i) First class M.Sc. degree in Zoology from a recognized University with specialization in Entomology. OR First Class M.Sc. degree in Forestry from a recognized University with specialization in Entomology. OR First Class M.Sc. (Agriculture) degree from a recognized University with specialization in Entomology.
Desirable Qualification: (ii) Ph.D. degree in Entomology withspecialization in Insect Taxonomy.

2. SBT (Botany)
Essential Qualification: (i) First class M.Sc. degree in Botany from a recognized University with specialization in Plant Taxonomy. ORFirst class M.Sc. degree in Forestry from a recognized University with specialization in Plant Taxonomy.
Desirable Qualification: (ii) Ph.D. degree in Botany with specialization in
Higher Plant Taxonomy.

3. SFGTB (Forest Genetics and TreeBreeding)
Essential Qualification: (i) First Class M.Sc. degree in Forestry from arecognized University with specialization in Forest Genetics / Tree Breeding / TreePropagation. OR First Class M.Sc. degree in Plant Genetics and Breeding from a recognized University.
Desirable Qualification: (ii) Ph.D. degree in Forest Genetics / PlantGenetics.

4. SCT(Chemistry)
Essential Qualification: (i) First Class M.Sc. degree in Chemistry from a recognized University with specialization in Organic Chemistry.
Desirable Qualification: (ii) Ph.D. degree in Organic Chemistry.

5. SSS (Soil Science)
Essential Qualification: (i) First Class M.Sc. degree in Agriculture from a recognized University with specialization in Soil Science. OR First Class M.Sc. degree in Soil Science/Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry/ Soil Microbiology from a recognized University. OR First Class M.Sc. degree in Forestry from a recognized University with specialization in Soil Science.
Desirable Qualification: (ii) Ph.D. degree in Soil Science.

8. SFP (Forest Pathology)
Essential Qualification: (i) First Class M.Sc. degree in Forestry from a recognized University with specialization in Pathology.OR First Class M.Sc. degree in Botany from a recognized University with specialization in Plant Pathology/Forest Pathology. OR First Class M.Sc. (Agriculture) degree from a recognized Universitywith specialization in Plant Pathology.
Desirable Qualification: (ii) Ph.D. degree in Forest Pathology or Plant Pathology

10. SBT (Biotechnology)
Essential Qualification: (i) First Class M.Sc. degree in Bio-technology from a recognized University with specialization in Plant Bio-technology/Plant Molecular Biology/Plant Genetics/
Genetic Engineering. OR First Class B.Tech. degree in Bio-technology from a recognized University.
Desirable Qualification: (ii) Ph.D. degree in Plant Bio-technology

Age Limit : 30 years (as on 01.07.2010).

The upper age is relaxable for Central Government
employees and candidates belonging to reserved categories as per rules of the Government of
India subject to production of certificate from the Competent Authority. There shall be no
upper age limit for officers/officials already working in ICFRE and its Institutes/Centres and
also for Junior Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow/Research Associate and Field
Assistant who have been continuously working for a period of atleast 8(eight) years or more in
ICFRE and its Institutes/Centres.

Place of Posting: The persons selected against the posts in the above disciplines will be posted
in any of the Institutes/Centres of the Council at Dehradun, Jabalpur, Jodhpur, Jorhat,
Coimbatore, Bangalore, Shimla, Ranchi, Allahabad, Chhindwara, Hyderabad & Aizawl.
All
posts carry liability to serve anywhere in India.

Date and Time of candidates test and /or interview: To be intimated later to the eligible
candidates, separately.

Place of Written Examination: The written examination will be conducted at the Centres at,
FRI, Dehradun, TFRI, Jabalpur, AFRI, Jodhpur, RFRI, Jorhat, IFGTB, Coimbatore, IWST,
Bangalore, HFRI, Shimla & IFP, Ranchi. The candidates are required to indicate atleast three
(3) centres in order of preference. The Council reserves the right to allot an examination centre
other than order of preference. After allotment of examination centre, request for change of
examination centre shall not be entertained in any circumstances and the candidate will have
to appear at the allotted centre at his/her expenses.

How to Apply
Interested candidates should submit their application typed on A-4 size paper as per the
prescribed proforma given at Annexure-A along with attested copies of
(i) certificate of age,
(ii) certificate of educational qualification, (iii) certificate in support of claim to belong to
SC/ST/OBC/PH, as applicable, (iv) certificate in support of claim for age relaxation/fee
concession, as applicable, to the Registrar, Recruitment Board, Indian Council of Forestry
Research and Education, P.O. New Forest, Dehradun-248 006 on or before 20.04.2010
positively. Canvassing in any form will be treated as disqualification. Interim enquiries will
not be entertained.
