Walk in interview
A walk in interview will be held from 10.00 a.m. onwards on 22 nd March, 2010, in the office of the Head, Dept. of MBBT, for the following positions in a DBT sponsored Project entitled
“Strengthening of Biotechnology teaching, training and research in universities and colleges in the Northeast”. Interested candidates may appear before the interview board
accordingly. Copies of all necessary documents and a copyofcurriculum vitae (CV) in the given format are to be produced before 10.00 a. m. on the date of interview.
Positions:
1. Research Associate (RA) 01
2. Junior Research Fellow (JRF) 02
3. Technical Assistant (TA) 01
Eligibility and other details are given below:
Research Associate (RAs): 01
Eligibility : Ph.D. degree in any discipline of Life Sciences, from a recognized University and
has published research work to their credit.
Age: Preferably below the age of 40 years on the last date of receiving the application.
Desirable: Research experience in Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/ Biochemistry/ Genetic Engineering/ Microbiology/ Immunology/ Bioinformatics and experience
of handling advance equipments like GC MS/HPLC/DNA sequencer etc. Candidates having publication in peer reviewed journals will be preferred.
Junior research fellow (JRF): 02
Educational Qualification: Candidate must possess a M.Sc. in Microbiology/ Molecular Biology/ Biochemistry / Biophysics/Biotechnology/ Zoology/
Botany/ Life Sciences/ MVSc/ M.Pharma from a recognised University with minimum 55% marks in aggregate. NET/GATE
qualified or candidates having some research experience will be
preferred.
Age: Candidate should not be more than 28 years of age on the last date of receiving the application.
Technical Assistant (TA): 01
Educational Qualification: Candidate should be B.Sc. from a recognised University with 50%
marks in any branches of Life Science/Physical Science/ Chemical Science. One year experience in any government R&D laboratory,
University, Instituteis preferable.
Age: Candidate should not be more than 28 years of age on the last date of receiving
the application.
Notes:
1. Fellowship/ Emoluments as perthe DBT rule.
2. Upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years in the case of candidate belonging SC/
ST/OBC/Women and physically challenged applicants.
3. Appointment will be initially for a period of one year which may be extended
further depending upon satisfactory performance of the incumbent and coterminus with the project.
4. The engagement for the projects is purely on temporary basis for the period of
duration of the project. It is not a Tezpur University appointment and will not confer any right of the incumbent to any claim implicit or explicit on any positions.
5. No TA/DA will be paid to any candidate for attending the interview.
6. The decision of selection committee/ Tezpur University authority would be final and
binding in all aspects.
