Mizoram University is a Central University being set up on modern standardswith excellent academic infrastructure and research facilities including a Central Analyticaland Preparatory Facility consisting of sophisticated equipments. Mizoram is one of the mostpeaceful states in the country despite being located in the NER. Aizawl is connected by Airfrom Kolkatta and Guwahati (daily flights). Nearest railhead is at Silchar (180 km). Theclimate is mild both in summer and winter.Teachers are provided hard furnished housing and Special Duty Allowance of12.5% of Basic Pay + AGP besides all other Central allowances and NER concessions.
