Applications are invited upto 28th July 2009 for one post of Scientist ‘B’ in the Pay Band-3 Rs.15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs.5400/- (as admissible under the rules) under ICMR Research Cadre at the Institute of Pathology , New Delhi . It carries all India transfer liability.
Qualification & Experience:
Essential: 1st Class Master’s Degree in Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Genetics / Life Sciences with three years research / teaching experience in modern proteomics.
OR
Second class Master’s degree in Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Genetics / Life Sciences with PhD degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
Desirable:
(i) Doctorate degree in Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Genetics / Life Sciences.
(ii) Knowledge of Bioinformatics / Computer Application.
Job Requirement:
Should be able to plan and participate in studies on isolation and characterization of proteins or newer molecules using modern chromatographic methods, mass spectrophotometry, 2Dgel electrophoresis, relevant to cancer biology or infectious agents and carry out research on their structure and functional relationship.
Age: Not exceeding 35 years. Relaxable up to 5 years for Govt. servants in accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel & Training from time to time in this regard. SC/ST/OBC is also allowed relaxation as per Central Govt. Rules, in force.
Applications from employees working in Central/State Govt. Department Public Sector Undertaking and Govt. funded research agencies must be forwarded through proper channel.
The mandatory new Pension Scheme viz. “New Restructured Defined Contribution System” as amended from time to time will be admissible.

Application format can also be downloaded at ICMR Website “http:/icmr.nic.in ” OR “www.instpath.8m.net” Forms duly completed in all respects alongwith attested copies of the certificates in support of date of birth, educational qualification, experience, etc., together with application fee of Rs.100/- by crossed IPO/Bank draft issued by Govt.Bank only, drawn in favour of the Director, Institute of Pathology, New Delhi should be sent to the Director, Institute of Pathology, Safdarjang Hospital Campus, Post Box No.4909, New Delhi, so as to reach on or before 28th July 2009. SC/ST/Physically handicapped candidates are exempted from this payment of application fee. Applications received late/incomplete OR without fee will not be entertained.
Note:- Since it is not possible to call all the eligible candidates for the interview the applicants will be short-listed for this purpose and the decision of the Director, Institute of Pathology will be final in this regard. Outstation candidates called for interview for the above post will be paid 2nd class (to and fro) Rail fare by shortest direct route and through ticket basis on production of tickets. Any canvassing by or on behalf of candidates or to bring political or other outside influence with regard to selection/recruitment shall be considered as disqualification and no further enquiry in this regard will be entertained.
